 Social Imagination

Social imagination is the ability to relate personal challenges with the wider societal issues. The theory acknowledges the role of individuals within the larger social structures. The goal is to understand collective relationships and efforts necessary to change the world. The concept makes individuals aware of their experiences within the context of the larger society (Andersen & Taylor, 2020). My experience on social imagination relates to a time when I chose to purchase a new gym trouser. At the time, I had to consider my economic position, the various stores that sold the trouser, and the style that most people preferred in the gym. Additionally, the decision to buy the item emerged from the decision to improve my fitness based on the growing trend of more people seeking to improve their fitness.
